Shift How You Relate

Shift How You Relate_iStock_000002784916MediumWhenever you feel yourself dropping into the
habit of despair, remember: it’s easier to
commiserate about being broke (and broken)
than to share those uplifting moments that
can stir and embolden us all. Negative talk
is the lame way out. Seek the smarter way in.

Note how we react when a formerly broke and broken friend confides things are getting better. She is now headed toward making a huge salary (much better than ours) and she’s met the partner of her dreams. Do a real check. The truth is when any major shift occurs, it affects all of that person’s friends. The relationship subtly (or not so subtly) shifts on its axis. Even when we are truly thrilled, we know … that something is going to change. Let us strive to love the change! Let us be strong enough and loving enough to be worthy of such a friend. In so doing, our own miracles will follow.

    Wise words once again, CJ.

For the last couple of months, I’ve been ending each day by listing some of the day’s “wins” and “opportunities” (instead of calling the low points losses). It helps to end my day in a positive frame of mind while looking at the struggles as areas for learning and growth. It’s a work in progress, but it’s a start…

Wow. I’m going to try that, Jenny. That’s a fantastic idea — “wins” and “opportunities” versus losses. I love it when we can all share, tie our rafts together, and lift each other up. Pure Heart, CJ

Yep, I have always felt that it’s so easy to be cynical. That’s a cheap way to live. The more exciting thing is to look for solutions and use your creativity to make things better. xoxoxoxo
