Give Yourself a Break

Did you know that Albert Einstein got
expelled from school and didn’t read
till he was seven? That Fred Astaire
flunked his first screen test? Or that
publishers rejected Jack London’s
earliest story six hundred times?
The fact is everyone “fails.”
So give yourself a break!

you are doing the impossible.”

I take great comfort in these unlikely success stories. Nice reminder that success just might be at my elbow! Yours, too! 🙂

Oh, I feel MUCH better! Now, please also tell me that Einstein didn’t do anything significant until WELL after 50!!! I mean, we live SO much longer now, our 50 is like Einstein’s 15, right? (Please say yes!) You’re right though: it’s ALL relative – especially to how we reflect on our own contributions (now and in the future!). Thx! Now back to my equations….

Such a tough lesson to remember in an often unforgiving world. Thank you for the reminder, CJ!

CJ has an amazing ability to reach into an author’s words and extend, expand, and help bring them to light and life, without interfering with the original tone and voice of the work. She knew just how to bring flavor into my wording. During the editing process, I remember telling friends and family how lucky I was to have found CJ for this book. It was the perfect fit! I could tell she really cared about the subject matter. She is the best of the best!
