Mission Recover

Mission Recover_iStock_000014663635MediumMost days we cope. But some
days we cannot. Whenever you’re
feeling beaten to a pulp, it’s best to
put any troubles temporarily aside.
Now and then, allow yourself to
unplug the world, curl up with one’s
heart, and simply regenerate.
_____________

“Escape is not a dirty word.
None of us can face what’s
happening head-on
all of the time.”

–Sheldon Koop,
American psychologist

My head says this is wonderful advice, but lately my soul feels like it is much easier said than done. When I feel beaten to a pulp, the mere thought of unplugging before I’ve safely fought my way through the fire can be more overwhelming than whatever I’m facing. I’ll have to keep coming back to this lesson until curling up doesn’t feel so dangerous…

I think it comes down to “trusting” ours souls (and our bodies) to know “when” to hit that pause button… Pure Heart, CJ

I seem to do it naturally. Something in me just … gives … out.
