Courage Is Already Yours

Wherever you’re at in life, no
matter how dire things get, it’s
critical to believe in your ability
to summon your best. Courage is
the lucky coin you’ve forgotten
you already own. Spend it well.
_____________

“Great occasions do not make
heroes or cowards; they simply
unveil them . . . Silently and
perceptibly, as we wake or
sleep, we grow strong or weak;
and at last some crisis shows
what we have become.”
–Brooke Foss Westcott

We seem to want to show our goodness on our sleeves. But alas we must have it in our blood. But keeping it there, that takes work. Thanks for the reminder.

Pretty wild because that photo you used is the top of the Place de la Bastille. I lived very close to that area for over 2 months and this is where the Bastille prison was. I was really inspired by the courage it took for the people to revolt and take down the monarchy. Such a great choice for your courage message!!

Ha! You just educated me, Lexie. I didn’t even know that when I chose this image — it just seemed right. Pure Heart, CJ

Courage is one of my favorite emotional complexities because it cannot exist without a bit of trepidation to overcome. Fear is necessary–it keeps us safe. But courage helps us to transcend fear and thrive.

It is a brilliantly written, informative and (a) fascinating read. Burke Strunsky’s ongoing faith in humanity and the criminal justice system is refreshing and his unwavering persistence in seeking justice for the victims of violent crimes serves to light a bright path on the very dark road to justice—and offers hope and inspiration to us all.
